Christmas in July

I think Christmas is so great that it should be every month but the humans finally caught on at least a little and Liss over at Purs 'N Snorts held a Christmas in July. We were paired up with Tybalt the Prince of Cats and boy, he sure is! We got his presies the other day and Mommy took lots of pictures. Thanks so much Tybalt! You're one smart, generous kitty.

Here's our first goody. Or goodies. Two colorful tennis balls.


This is Daisy checking one of the balls out. She played with it like crazy afterward!


Our next fantabulous presie was yummy dental sticks. I think they're supposed to be good for you but we puggies aren't too concerned with that (although Mommy is. She's crazy like that). We just couldn't wait to get our teeth into them (Mommy has to watch us very carefully with treats like these because we love them so much, we eat them in minutes).


Daisy had a good sniff before digging in for a good chew (as you can see she was eating grass seconds before Mommy opened the package).


Yep. These dental stix sure get the puggie seal of approval. Yum!


More yummies! We love Carry Outs. They are one of our favorite treats.


Mommy couldn't get a picture of us actually eating the treats though because as soon as Daddy tossed us one, we ate it all up in a blur. Here I am waiting very patiently like a good girl.


And finally we got lovely pink bandanas!


I look cuter than Daisy of course but I guess she looks pretty cute too.

Desert Lake

It's me! Daisy! I know I'm a few weeks late but I wanted to share pictures of our trip to Desert Lake, Ontario. It was great! I'd never been to a "cottage" or a "lake" but I had lots of fun. Mommy brought my food and bones and my sister so I was happy baby pug.

Speaking of my sister, she was much braver than me. She liked to sit on the dock but I liked to sit on the grass near the dock.


She even stood right by the edge of the dock when Mommy was in swimming:


Mommy saw her and picked her up IN THE WATER!!!! Mommy tried this with me and I wiggled and scratched. Mommy put me back on the dock and said she'd never try that again. But Pearl likes the water for some reason.


She even swam! Well, okay. She doesn't really swim. Mommy has to hold her but she HAD FUN!!!! Boy, my big sister is one brave crazy pug.


There were lots of other animals with us at the lake. These guys are called "loons" and they make pretty singing noises. They came so close to the dock, Mommy had to take about 100 pictures.


Nobody was crazy about this guy. He was very big and very scary. Thankfully he stayed under the dock most of the time:


This guy was also big but not very scary. He flew into my head a few times. I tried to catch him but he was very fast:


The smallest cats in the world were INSIDE the cottage. Mommy called them "kittens". I tried to catch them to play with them but they didn't want to play with me. Too bad. We could have had fun. Here's Miss Bella:

Mommy's New Love

Sorry that we haven't posted in awhile. Mommy needs to help us with the 'puter but she's been super duper busy and really just having fun in the sun. Harumph.

Below are pictures of what was keeping her busy on this past weekend. They had an "air show" at the airport right next to our house. We think it should have been called a "noise show". The planes zooping over our house were so loud but Mommy loved it. She says she doesn't understand why she likes fighter jets so much because normally she's like us and doesn't like much noise. But all weekend she's like "Top Gun, yeah!"- whatever that means.

Anyhow, here's one of the really noisy planes. It's called an F15. It's getting ready to bother everyone:


And here it is flying, making a nuisance of itself (Mommy thinks it's a beautiful thing. We think she's a little nutty):


We're actually getting ready to go away AGAIN to visit some friends at their cottage in Canada today but we wanted to tell our BIG NEWS!!!! Mommy finally bought a super duper fancy shmancy camera!!!! At first we weren't sure about it. It's sure is a lot bigger than our old camera but then we saw how wonderful we look in the pictures and now we love it too.

Fridge Meme & Award

Here's the front of her in all her glory! Actually, it's not too busy today. I used to have a lot more magnets but I got rid of a bunch when we moved 2 years ago. Here some highlights of what you see:

We're baaccckkk...

Pearl here! Sorry we haven't commented on our friends' blogs or posted in over a week but we were away in Maine. It was pretty fun considering it wasn't home. We have pictures and stuff to talk about but Mommy needs to get the pictures from the camera first.

So today we're going to post our last entries to Sophie's contest which had been over at her blog Pug & Bugg (contest is over now - we had lots of fun!). There's a site where you can make your own LOL Dogs. Mommy could get addicted to it. Here's our piccies - that's me in the tub and Daisy being a goofie guts.

Pearl here! We were supposed to post these pictures a few days ago on Canada Day but Mommy has been kind of disorganized so we're posting tonight. We realize tomorrow is July 4th so we just say Happy Summer to all our American and Canadian friends.

Now onto the really important stuff - pictures of me. And my sister and our friend Rosie. We had a Canada Day bbq with Rosie and her mommy Rachel on Tuesday. Mommy had some decorations in the basement that Daddy's mommy had kindly given her years ago. She was glad to pull everything out. It looked quite festive! Mommy only managed one picture with decorations AND a puggie. Here's Rosie sniffing our maple leafs:

Here, Rosie is totally hogging the spotlight but I gotta admit she looks pretty cute:


And of course no day is complete without Daisy going beserk and attacking me. As you can see, my fighting skills gave me the upper paw:


Rachel brought Daddy lots of Canadian chocolate (Mommy can't eat sugar) and he didn't share a single piece with us! Harumph. Maybe next year.

As for tomorrow, we hope no one lights a single firework because it scares the poop out of us.

Thongs - not the under kind

Pearl here! Mommy has been busy this week making gifts for Auntie Janet whose birthday is next month. Mommy made "book thongs" with our pictures on them! Daddy and cousin Jenn laughed when Mommy told them she was making "thongs" out of beads but Mommy insists that's what they're called.

Here's a couple of pictures of them. Mine's first and really the best because it has my picture on it. Daisy's is okay. She's kind of cute sometimes (but NEVER when she's licking my eyeballs).




P.S. A book thong is a bookmark - we don't know why it's called a "thong" maybe because it's made out of beads and not paper...?
