What we did on a Sunday afternoon

Pearl here!

We wanted to post this LAST Sunday but Mommy has been busy all week working, belly dancing and watching Supernatural Season One so we're posting this a week late.

While we were doing this last Sunday:

Mommy and Daddy went to Winterfest and took a bunch of photos.

She took some pictures of some dogs. Actually a lot of pictures of some dogs. Just in case you don't know, these are not pugs:

In fact, we're not even sure they are dogs. They kind of look like wolves to us.

Although there were a couple of these winter dogs that reminded us of us. The first one here reminds me a lot of myself - she knows what counts in a life - a good rubbing! And the second dog was so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open. Oh, we hear you dog! That's why we don't do things like go to Winterfesty events where you have to pull sleds.

At the park there is also this place called the Wild Wings where they keep injured wild birds like owls and hawks. It's a pretty cool place except Mommy went in there with her camera and was already to take a picture of the cutest little owls and the Wild Wings guy told her they didn't allow Digital SLR photography. He said one person one time took pictures of the birds and tried to sell them so now NO ONE with a nice camera is allowed to take photos. If you have a camera phone or a Point and Shoot it's okay, he said.

Mommy thought this was one of the silliest things in the world but she was okay with it until the guy went on to lecture her how she should just learn to enjoy animals without taking pictures of them. And then he pointed to a rack of cards and said, "If you want photos of the birds you can BUY these."

She was a bit crabby after that because she loves animals and loves her camera and loves taking pictures of animals and doesn't like to be told how to enjoy things! But then she went outside and saw some really pretty horses and met the nicest police people. They were happy to have their picture taken.

We wonder if the police lady knew there were wolves in the park that day...hmmmm...

sometimes bird people are WEIRD!!! And should be ignored! We're glad the dog and horse people were nice, though.

Hi Pearl & Daisy!
It looks like your people had a lot of fun at winterfest! I would have stayed home where it's warm too!

Well that sounds like a nice day at Winterfest aside from the camera Nazi.
Something that made me laugh though - here in Colorado, Wild Wings is the name of a VERY popular chicken wing restaurant...I know that that shouldn't make me laugh, but it does.

Oh my! Those dogs look like wolves to me. It's best to stay clear of wild animals like that!!

Oooh supernatural!! I got completely hooked on that last year and have finally all caught up!!

It sounds like someone let their authority go to their head lol. :p
Those wolves/dogs are gorgeous!
I've always wanted one but it usually doesn't get cold enough for their thick fur.
