Does Daisy Hafta?

Pearl here.

As you can see, my life is pretty darn terrible sometimes. I was just sitting in the living room catching some rays and then along comes my sister and sits right beside me. It was pretty awful. I asked Mommy to make her go away but Mommy didn't do anything but laugh. Laugh!! Can you believe it? It's a hard pug life, let me tell you. But I guess it wasn't all bad having my sister sitting next to me. It was even kind of cozy (don't tell anyone I said that).

Not for us

Mommy thinks this cartoon by Natalie Dee is pretty darn funny. Us, not so much. Jobs are work!

Since Mommy got her new job in the summer she just hasn't had very much time for much else. She feels bad because one thing she doesn't get to do as much is blogging and blogging visiting. :o( But she's hoping things will be better in the new year.

Holidays Shtuff

Pearl here!

I was just lying here thinking about Christmas and what Santy Paws is going to bring me. Then I was thinking how Mommy got a box of our photo cards the other day and was wondering if any of our bloggie friends would like to get one in the slug mail...? If you do, you can write to us at pearlspuglove at frontiernet.net dot net. We love to spread the puggie joy!

Today, Mommy and Daddy are going to get our tree. I think I'll rest up so I can "help" decorate later.

The new dog park!

Daisy here!

Mommy took us to a sneak preview of the new dog park!!!! We've never been to a dog park before - it was the BEST ever. As soon as Mom got us inside, I ran and ran and ran. And that's not all! I played with a puppy and another fuzzy white dog. And then I ran some more!

Mommy didn't bring the camera and take pictures of us because she didn't have enough hands. Daddy would have come and helped but he stayed home "sick" and played on the Wii.

Since we don't have any pictures, here's a picture of Pearl. Mommy was doing some tidying up. The box was going down to the basement and Mom had to put the bed away. It didn't bother Pearl that the bed was in the box. She climbed right in and had a nap.

The dog park opens in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to go back!

Halloween Party

Pearl here!

Daisy and I went to a Halloween party at a place called the Garden Factory. I was pretty surprised because doggies aren't usually allowed in the garden as they tend to eat everything (flowers are yummy!) but the people at the Garden Factory mustn't care one hoot about that because there were about a bazillion dogs there. I didn't get to munch on any flowers but I did see a puppy eating a pumpkin.

Daisy went as a chicken which is perfect Mom says because she's such a fraidy-pug. This is her at home in her whole costume. When we got to the party, she wouldn't wear the head part and everybody kept thinking she was an angel. Yeah, right. An angel!!! She had them fooled!

Here she is at the party after oh, about, 3 minutes.

More of Daisy just because Mom thinks she's cute (you can't blame Mom, she's not wearing her new bifocals right now).

This is me giving the raspberry to somebody but I can't remember why. It was maybe one of those people who say pugs are so ugly we're cute. Hey, lady, we're just cute, dontcha know!!!

Can you tell what I am? A squirrel. A big one.

Me and my sister, the angel chicken.

We found a pumpkin patch! Who knew that they grew at the Garden Factory?!

Mom's hoping to take us to another Halloween party. We don't know what's up with Mom, but it's her favorite holiday so we'll help her out if we can.

Pug Day in the Lab

Pearl here!

Last week, Mommy got me and my sister all ready and put us in the car.

Us: "Where are we going, Mom?"

Mommy: "You'll see. It's surprise."

Oh, great! We love surprises. As long as it's not a surprise visit to the groomers to get our nails done or a surprise visit to the vets to get our anal glands drained.

But no! This was a good surprise! We went to see Daddy at work in the big place called "oonivercity" where Daddy does all sorts of important stuff like eat lunch and play raquetball. First, we had to walk down a long important hallway.

Then I stopped to take my picture with some important banner.

After that we went up to Daddy's lab where we visited with some of the nice students who work there.

And then the best thing in the world happened! Dr. Jeff, an important scientist at the oonivericty, got a hold of Daisy and attached thingies to her head!!!

Daisy wasn't too sure about it but I was like, "Yes!!! Do whatever important science things you want to my stinky sister!"

When she was all hooked up, Dr. Jeff showed us that Daisy's brain actually worked. Ha. Could have fooled me.

After all that hard work and visiting, it was time for treats. I, of course, got first dibs from Dr. Jeff.

Then Daddy shared an apple with me and my sister the Stinkmeister.

After that we were pretty much done for dinner.

Which reminded us "Hey, it's time to eat!" So Mommy brought us home but we're sure it won't be long before we'll go back to visit Daddy at work where they can do more science stuff to Daisy!

Daisy here!

We went away last weekend and we knew we were going far because we had to go in our crates.

When we got to our hotel room, Pearl relaxed, but I was so excited to be on vacation, I played.

But then I got tired and relaxed too - on the blankie Mommy brought for us. She thinks of everything, that Mommy!

You'd think we'd had enough relaxing but Pearl had even more relaxing to do. This time she rested on the big bed - I still don't go on the big bed. It's for Mommy and Daddy and big sister.

While we were resting, Mommy and Daddy actually went out! To a museum! It was called the Corning Museum of Glass and was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel.

Mommy and Daddy saw lots of cool things in the museum and they were all made of glass! That's pretty cool but I think it would have been even better if everything had been made of kibble or bananas...yummmmm...

Our parents got to make their own glass things by blowing into a long tube. Mommy said she's going to put what they made on the Christmas tree. Me and Pearl will have to be careful not to knock them off!

On the way home we stopped at Watkins Glen State Park where there are all these cool gorges, but they wouldn't let us puggies in. They said some doggies don't like people and some people don't like doggies (yikes!) and because the paths are skinny there could be people-doggie showdowns. We didn't want that so we were glad to get back in the car and snooze all the way home.

My new bed!

Pearl here!

Mommy thinks I love the new bed I got for Christmas in July. She even has what she calls "photographic proof". I'm not sure what that means except I know she's been taking a lot of pictures of me in my new bed.

Here's one from Thursday:

One from Friday morning:

And Friday afternoon (I wasn't too happy with my little stinky sister climbing in with me as you can see by my face):

And Sunday morning:

After seeing all the "evidence", I think Mommy is right - I do love my new bed!
